Government Services
Government
and industry often join forces to bring innovative technologies into
widespread use. To manage the risks, the EBTC
offers specialized scouting, analysis and documentation services for
projects undertaken in partnership with the government.
Demonstration Project Design
Through STEP, the EBTC will leverage the resources of universities, the regulatory community,
and companies in the design of demonstration projects. The objective
of these projects is to generate the information needed to achieve
regulatory acceptance and allow customers the opportunity to assess
the ability to attain the desired level of performance at a justifiable
cost.
Industry/Market Studies
The EBTC’s economic studies create understanding of market
opportunities, competitive advantages, and growth potential. Each
study describes:
- The basic characteristics of the industry (number and size of
establishments, industry segments, industry productivity);
- Demographic characteristics of the workers;
- Economic impact of the industry (industry linkages suppliers,
customers, multipliers); and
- Policy recommendations concerning improving the business development
prospects of the segment.
Technology Scouting
The EBTC derives the criteria for scouting technology from the
problem defined by a specific government agency. Then we locate
and assess available technology that can solve the problem. Analysis
can be limited to technology currently being sold commercially or
can include new technology emerging from university, government
and other laboratories.
